Mr. President,

Iceland welcomes the delegation of Oman and its national report.

In the spirit of constructive engagement, Iceland recommends the following:

1. Abolish the death penalty.
2. Ratify the Second Optional Protocol of the ICCPR.
3. Criminalize all forms of gender-based violence, including marital rape.
4. Ensure universal access to CSE in and out of school settings.
5. Decriminalize and legalize abortion in all circumstances.
6. Eliminate child marriage.
7. Decriminalize same-sex relations between consenting adults.
8. Abolish all legislation that criminalizes or restricts the rights of transgender and intersex persons.
